Hi, I’m Heather! I live in Arizona in the United States. I am 30 years old and am completing a masters degree in nutritional science. I am married to my lovely husband and we have 2 beautiful little girls.
Prioritizing the well-being of our families not only changes the environment in our homes, but it also alters the trajectory of our lives, our community, and future generations for the better. Upon starting my own family and being able to intentionally choose the type of culture that we created in our home I realized how much time and effort is required to maintain the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of a family. Life is busy. It can be easy to put familial relationships at the bottom of our to do lists because there are other pressing obligations with our jobs, schooling, etc. I personally learned that being a good mother and wife takes practice. I learned I had to actively choose the way I speak to my husband and children instead of just reacting to them. I had to plan quality time for us so we can further get to know and cherish one another. As we practice every day being kind, honest, and present for one another it will come naturally when difficult seasons of suffering and sorrow come into our life. Prioritizing family can and will create a kinder world for future generations.
